Tasks
-Manage and/or attend project site visits as necessary during the pursuit and design phase -Establish and manage project budget and scope expectations and ensuring alignment between them -Coordination of design reviews and alignment on standard layouts with the Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) team -Effectively work and build relationships with those of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels -Leading and coordination of due diligence for permitting and code compliance requirements that apply to each project. -Assist in project margin plan development and alignment during design phase -Coordination and management of the proposal process during an active RFP -Responsible for bid packages (designer and/or trade partner), third party reviewer bid packages, and contract manuals -Coordination and management of Design Phase meetings with the Owner, Design partners and internal team members -Management of the proposal and design phase in alignment with our estimate, the RFP, and current procurement lead times -Create and manage project schedules and key milestones, coordinating with stakeholders and managing accountability for meeting set achievements during the design phase -Coordination of Risk and Legal review of the EPC Agreement and key Exhibits, while communicating clarification in our proposal response. -Manage budget trending logs, and any associated communications and resources -Support Design Phase Manager and/or Construction Executive with negotiating agreements, including but not limited to owners, designers, trade partners, critical equipment purchase agreements and third-party review consultants -Lead team members by example, offer effective coaching and feedback, and effectively manage performance -Ensure regulatory approvals and permits are obtained -Identify and resolve technical design and specification concerns -Lead the Mortenson project team in achieving, schedule alignment, an integrated team experience, and construction readiness -Manage, mentor, and guide design phase team engineers and project/field engineers supporting pre-construction efforts to ensure clear direction and career growth -Ensure proper alignment of design documents and project execution plan across all internal and external stakeholders -Ensure Mortenson project teams conduct timely constructability reviews -Foster an integrated team experience through communication and collaboration -Support Design Phase Manager and/or Project Executive with management of design phase cost issues -Manage project transition process to the project management team

What You Bring
-Ability to interpret and communicate Mortenson policies -Strong teamwork orientation, initiative, communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills -Microsoft Office, project, and pertinent web application skills at an intermediate level -Basic understanding of construction law and generally accepted business practices -Our postings are typically open a minimum of 5 days and an average of 44 days. -Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil, Mechanical, Electrical or Architectural Engineering, Construction Management, Estimating, or equivalent field -Knowledge of Equal Employment Opportunity, inclusive behaviors, and Affirmative Action plans and their intended use -Detail orientation sufficient to organize and manage multiple project tasks -Ability to travel up to 30% -Minimum five years relevant experience -Active listening skills and effective communication including an openness to diverse input and feedback -Must be currently legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status, 0-1, TN, CPT, OPT, etc.).
