Senior Cost Controller NGCS

Overview

Oversee cost planning, budgeting and financial reporting for major rail infrastructure projects.

Tasks

-Conduct site visits and walk-arounds with Project Managers to support asset onboarding. -Coordinate project change requests and contingency drawdowns. -Assist the Fixed asset team in identifying and transferring project costs to assets that are being commissioned into operations -Manage end-to-end cost processes including accruals, invoice validation, and SAP R3 compliance. -Develop, implement, and maintain best-practice processes for project budget management, planning, monitoring, and reporting. -Conduct audits and reconciliations to ensure data accuracy. -Provide advice and support on cost management procedures to ensure transparency and accuracy of project costs. -Engage with engineers, managers, and stakeholders to validate asset data and ensure accurate accounting. -Support project estimating, budgeting, cash-flow planning, and forecasting processes.

What You Bring

-Proven experience in project cost planning for large, multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects. -Someone outgoing, supportive and collaborative, comfortable engaging with engineers, managers, and diverse teams on-site. -Effective influencing and stakeholder engagement skills with ability to build and maintain productive relationships with stakeholders across other government stakeholders. -Strong knowledge of financial and project management systems, ideally SAP R3. -Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills, including the confidence to challenge assumptions and influence outcomes. -Ability to interpret, analyse, and report complex cost and schedule data with accuracy and clarity. -A solutions-focused mindset, with the ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines. -Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including use of BI tools (e.g., Power BI) for reporting and data analysis
