Tasks
-Leveraging existing industry relationships to promote Volkert ports services and cross-sell across all disciplines -Leading development of plans, specifications, schedules, and cost estimates for a variety of port projects -Independently preparing basis of design, design calculations, technical reports, alternatives analyses, and study reports -Mentoring a team of developing port and maritime engineers -Independently performing and supervising structural analysis and design for marine and upland components -Conducting ongoing business development activities -Independently performing and supervising berthing and mooring analyses -Attending client meetings and performing site visits -Serving as a practice builder and growing the SE Region’s ports practice -Hiring, managing, and motivating staff -Utilizing your appropriate understanding of interdisciplinary requirements for port projects to improve project processes and perform QA/QC reviews

What You Bring
-Valid driver's license. -A satisfactory motor vehicle report (MVR). -Excellent written and oral communication skills -Existing relationships with port entities in FL -Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening to ensure a safe and productive work environment. Volkert adheres to federal guidelines, which may include testing for substances such as marijuana. Please note that federal regulations may differ from state-specific guidelines. -Proven experience in business development -Professional Engineer (PE) License in the State of Florida -Bachelors or Masters degree in Civil/Structural Engineering -Minimum 10 years of experience in analysis and design of port structures -Ability to hire, manage, and motivate staff -Previous experience in analysis and design of medium to large scale ports/maritime/structures and preparation of plans, specifications, and estimates -Applying a strong understanding of maritime codes and references including UFC, PIANC, ASCE-61
