Tasks

To be the key interface between UU Wastewater operations and the primary contract Partners that work on our behalf on our network. Manage our core Wastewater Partners on our Network Maintenance Service (NMS) framework to ensure they meet operational need, deliver within key contracts KPIs and SLAs, and deliver VfM service for our customers. Provide subject matter expertise on contractual operational KPIs and Service Level Agreements, including the assurance of internal UU processes, obligations and expectations. Lead, manage and intervene on behalf of the contract Partners in support of operational delivery. Monitor commercial cost and revenue dynamics with commercial colleagues to ensure that financial incentives are operating as intended, contributing directly to operational performance. -Balances long-term strategic planning with the ability to react and adapt to changing circumstances, ensuring effective decision-making and resource allocation. -Customer contact management to meet Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and regulatory requirements, minimise service failures, and drive continuous improvement using root cause analysis and best practices. -Identify commercial and operational efficiency opportunities, reducing operating costs, eliminating duplication, and ensuring cost-effective operations. -Ensure clear accountabilities for Partner facing processes across the Network and Delivery teams by working closely with leadership to define roles and responsibilities, foster collaboration, and driving understanding of team contributions. These include job promotion, work scheduling, work bank and fluidity management, work estimate / target cost models and management of operational success criteria. -Champions change and innovation, identifying opportunities for improvement, driving efficiencies, and creating an environment that encourages learning and development for all team members. -Lead the strategic direction of contracts, identifying opportunities for improvement in service provision, designing lean processes, and embedding a companywide Core Wastewater vision and strategy to achieve strategic objectives and regulatory goals. -Ensure compliance with Health and Safety frameworks, review and improve systems to meet internal KPIs, and promote knowledge sharing through internal and external networks to embed best practices and thought leadership -Lead and manage relationships with framework Partners at a senior level. This includes the management of escalations and incidents, performance assurance and improvement, Partner resourcing and medium-term programme management and outlook. -Curate and track key performance metrics relating to H&S performance and compliance, streetworks, and workbank /completion/ dwell/ cycle time dynamics. Use this data to manage competing demands across the region, drive contractual compliance and commercial performance.

What You Bring

Bachelors Degree or equivalent professional qualification -Has knowledge and experience managing outsourced service and engineering contracts, particularly in the utilities or other adjacent sectors. -Experience working across internal stakeholders, managing competing demands and creating commercial clarity to enable outsourced delivery. Routinely operates at Dir and MD level, leading performance review processes and improvement. -Demonstrates excellent understanding of services, contracts, end-to-end processes, and contract management, with a strong grasp of business strategy and commercial issues.
