Tasks
Responsible for the delivery of all Engineering scopes of work within a designated contract through the application of the correct processes and procedures and allocation of competent personnel. -Responsible for aligning delivery and behaviours across all technical disciplines within designated contracts to ensure optimal results are delivered to clients -Ensuring correct work sequencing and workflow are in place across disciplines/ project phases (e.g. procurement, construction) to prevent re-work, or conversely the ability of dependent disciplines to make optimal progress. Intervening to resolve potential conflict if such situations arise -Maintain constant dialogue with Job Responsible Engineers to ensure project requirements are being serviced as required and provide regular progress updates to the Contract Manager -Regular review of NCR’s and SIR’s being raised within projects and managing resolution through to completion. -Responsible for working closely with the contract Construction Manager to ensure an optimized engineering design for construction is achieved through facilitation of constructability reviews at strategic points during design development -Review / approve / reject engineering queries / scope change, e.g. EQ’s, TQ’s, etc. -Engagement with engineering department heads to ensure correct allocation of resources in line with project requirements, including weekly FTE meeting attendance and contract overview -Review and monitoring of competence of engineering personnel across the company. In conjunction with HoD’s, management of shortfalls such as training, coaching, mentoring or other measures. -Review of engineering delivery against pre-determined internal KPI’s -Demonstrate and promote PD&MS values and lead by example -Remain up to date with technical developments, client, national and international standards and legislative requirements related to the position -Review personnel performance, competency and work ethic and action accordingly -Oversee delivery of cost-effective engineering solutions that are fit for purpose, safe and add value to both PD&MS and the Client. Motivation of all discipline personnel to do similarly -Demonstrate and promote PD&MS QHSE principles and lead by example -Preparation / approval of estimates and tender packages including PEER review of discipline generated CTRs -Continual monitoring of Engineering delivery performance in line with project, corporate and client requirements -Responsible for the continuous improvement of engineering and construction processes and procedures -Ensure unsafe activities are challenged -Responsible for the assurance of technical integrity of engineering delivered within designated contracts in full compliance with PD&MS Group procedures -Monitoring of engineering productivity and implementing remedial measures where applicable -Actively promote services of company whenever possible and source work if possible to do so -Representation of PD&MS with Clients, Suppliers / Vendors and Certifying Authorities in a professional manner -Ensure direct report performance reviews are carried out within the required timescales (where applicable) -Convening regular engineering meetings to ensure alignment with contract requirements -Responsible for ensuring professional development is maintained and identified competency requirements are undertaken in a timely manner -Review, or appropriate delegation of timesheets, holiday requests and working time -Regular contact with clients engineering and technical functional leadership team to maintain positive relationships within the contract -Review of engineering delivery against client specific KPI’s -Manage interface between engineering disciplines and other functions within projects where necessary e.g. PRP’s, Project Services

What You Bring
We are seeking an Engineering Manager with significant previous experience for this employee role based at our office in Grangemouth. Candidates must have oil and gas or refinery experience and have a piping / mechanical / structural engineering background to be suitable for this role. -Experience with commercial, contractual, and administrative aspects of projects and engineering activities -Significant, demonstrable experience managing multiple technical disciplines -Compliance with quality assurance, health and safety and environmental policies -Adherence to the requirements of the best practice standards recommendations and processes in the undertaking of duties, in particular, risk assessment and control, reliability and failure prevention necessary to ensure the safe design, provision and use of tools, equipment and systems -Experience in managing and developing others -Significant, demonstrable experience in Detailed Design Engineering and Engineering Checking/Approval -Chartered Engineering Status -Understanding of all Engineering disciplines -Excellent written and spoken English -Adherence to the company integrated management system -BSc in relevant Engineering Discipline -Competent in the use of MS Office applications -Resource analysis utilizing ProTools and discipline work scope forecasting -Proficient in the use of all ProTools -Awareness and understanding of the business drivers and values -Thorough knowledge and understanding of relevant Oil & Gas Industry Codes and Standards
