Tasks

The Senior ITS Engineer will lead and oversee all Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) aspects of major road and bridge infrastructure projects. The role involves managing the design review, installation, testing, and commissioning of ITS systems—including traffic monitoring, control, and communication networks—to ensure they meet client, regulatory, and international standards. -Review method statements, test procedures, and commissioning plans for all ITS works. -Inspect field installations (CCTV, VMS, radar sensors, fiber optic cables, controllers, traffic cabinets, etc.) for conformance with approved drawings. -Supervise installation, integration, and testing of ITS systems (field devices, control centers, communication networks). -Review and approve ITS system designs, shop drawings, and technical submittals for compliance with project specifications and international standards (e.g., NTCIP, IEEE, IEC, ISO, ITU, AASHTO). -Maintain detailed records of site inspections, non-conformance reports, design reviews, and system performance tests. -Liaise with client representatives, consultants, and local authorities (MOT/RCRC/SEC/STC) to resolve technical and integration issues. -Prepare progress reports, technical assessments, and recommend corrective actions when needed. -Coordinate with civil, electrical, and traffic teams to ensure ITS infrastructure (ducts, handholes, gantries, poles) is correctly installed and protected. -Interface with other intelligent systems (e.g., tunnel SCADA, lighting control, traffic signals, and safety systems). -Verify interface requirements between ITS subsystems (CCTV, VMS, SCADA, traffic sensors, communication networks, etc.) and other project components. -Provide technical input during design development, value engineering, and constructability reviews. -Monitor contractor progress and ensure compliance with QA/QC, safety, and project requirements. -Support the preparation of final acceptance and handover documentation to the client.

What You Bring

-Communication Networks (Fiber Optic, IP, Ethernet, Wireless) -Strong understanding of low-voltage systems, traffic signal integration, and ITS communications architecture. -Minimum 15 years of experience in ITS design, implementation, or supervision for major road and bridge infrastructure projects. -Automatic Incident Detection (AID) -Excellent coordination, reporting, and leadership skills. -Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Master’s preferred). -Familiarity with international ITS standards (NTCIP, AASHTO, IEC, ISO). -Proven experience with ITS systems integration, including: -Professional memberships or certifications (e.g., ITS Society, PMI, PMP, or relevant vendor certifications) are advantageous. -Variable Message Signs (VMS) -Deep knowledge of MOT, RCRC, and Saudi traffic technology standards.
