The Role
Overview
Design and oversee high‑voltage transmission projects from concept to construction

Tasks
-Research and compile project related data as required by the project managers. Compiles studies and reports. Writes specifications. -Complies with all policies and standards -Perform transmission design of projects from the conceptual phase through design completion. -Compile calculations for required electrical clearances based on NESC or other applicable codes and resources. Prepare communications of the interpretation and application of necessary NERC, FERC and regional requirements and standards. -Perform economic conductor selection studies, lightning performance and grounding calculations/studies. -Modify and review transmission components for project needs and requirements that are set forth by the project managers. -Compiles information for client presentations, shop drawing review, and contract administration for the design of power, process, pipeline, industrial, healthcare, airports, educational institutions, commercial, and governmental and military facilities. -Performs field inspections, measurements or calculations for public and private clients. -Prepare transmission equipment: packaged equipment specifications and data sheets, Request for Qualifications (RFQ's), technical bid summaries, and purchase recommendations. -Update drawings provided by senior engineers to verify corrections are made within multiple CAD related software.

What You Bring
-Ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment and demonstrated critical thinking skills. -Master Degree in Civil Engineering and 2 years of transmission engineering experience, consulting preferred. Preferred -Applies strong knowledge of commonly used transmission engineering/design concepts, principles, practices, codes, and procedures within the transmission engineering services industry. -Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering or related degree from an ABET accredited program. and 3 years of transmission engineering experience, consulting preferred. Required or -Strong computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD, MicroStation, BIM (Revit), Civil 3D, PLS, PLS-CADD, RISA-3D, MathCADD), and/or transmission analysis programs. -Strong knowledge in standard civil/structural engineering techniques and procedures. -Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization and problem-solving skills. -Excellent written and verbal communication skills. -Engineers in Training-EIT Certification Preferred
