Machine Maintenance Technician

Overview

Maintain and troubleshoot CNC machines, FANUC controllers, and related systems.

Tasks

-Prioritize machine maintenance requests to ensure production down time is minimized. -Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, face shields, hard hats, masks, gloves or other PPE required to operate equipment safely and effectively. -Collaborate with internal teams to support continuous improvement efforts with a focus on preventing recurring failure. -Move through the production warehouse facility on potentially uneven or slippery surface. -Respond to safety control noises or alarms such as fire alarm, forklifts horns, and machinery alerts. -Review documents, monitors or displays with potentially small print. -Lift, carry, push, and pull materials and objects weighing up to 40 pounds and heavier weights with the proper equipment. -Read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, PLC ladder and block logic to repair and replace motors, amplifiers, transducers, servos and sensors. -Support preventive maintenance schedule. -Troubleshoot FANUC controllers and identifying related failure modes for the purpose of repairing, and restarting CNC equipment. -Attend to machinery (workstation) for long periods, up to an entire shift, managing the controls of the equipment in a safe and effective manner. -Use machine tool manuals, technical documents and internal and vendor resources to research machine issues for repair. -Align and level CNC spindles, turrets and tail stocks and other related equipment.

What You Bring

-Hands on troubleshooting, teardown, and repair experience required. -Ability to read and interpret electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic prints and related technical documentation. -Ability to read and interpret PLC ladder logic. -Use computer keyboard, mobile device, desk top computer, laptop, calculator, telephone, walkie talkie, copy machine and other production warehouse tools or controls. -Demonstrated knowledge of mechanical and electrical maintenance. -Reach under, over, above or around machinery or other objects such as bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching, and climbing to perform work. -Previous experience with FANUC robots, controllers and peripheral equipment on R30iB and R30iA or similar control platforms. -Mentally focus on tasks and apply sound reasoning and judgement. -Previous experience with FANUC application software and programming, preferred. -3+ years' experience working in a related environment with CNC equipment.
