The Role

Overview

Design instrumentation and control drawings, schematics, and support tasks

Key Responsibilities

Tasks

-Size flow meters and manage piping design. -Utilize current drafting practices and tools for completion of assigned tasks. -Prepare estimates and material lists with guidance from project engineers or managers. -Assist in developing instrumentation drawings, data sheets, I/O wiring diagrams, P&IDs, PDFs, and loop diagrams. -Assist in quality checking of drafted products for conformance with standards. -Provide basic technical support for 2D schematic CAD applications. -Develop basic SCADA block diagrams. -Develop control panel elevation drawings. -Assemble typical details to support Instrumentation and Control drawings.

What You Bring

-Familiarity with International Society of Automation (ISA) standards. -Basic understanding of fiber optic cable routing. -Experience with data management and programming is preferred. -Familiarity with CADworks P&ID and Plant 3D is preferred. -Working knowledge of water, wastewater, and infrastructure design. -Experience with multiple discipline projects. -Proficiency in developing 2D Electrical and Instrumentation schematic drawings. -Minimum of 3 years of experience as an instrumentation and controls designer and 5 total years in design. -Strong proficiency in AutoCAD 2D. -Knowledge of basic network cabinets. -Working knowledge of P&ID CAD applications. -Background in oil and gas is advantageous. -Understanding of data conversion between MicroStation and AutoCAD. -Basic understanding of instrumentation controls.
