Tasks

Design of traffic engineering elements including traffic signals, roadway lighting, signage and pavement markings, ITS infrastructure, and work zone traffic control. -Assists with proposals to provide professional services or obtain funding for engineering projects or projects. -Independently evaluates, selects, and adapts standard techniques, procedures, and criteria. -Attends project meetings and presents specific aspects of engineering assignments. -Prepares plans, specifications, and other project documents. -Preparation of Transportation Management Plans for major roadway improvement projects -Preparation of traffic related technical documents and reports -Mentors junior staff by providing guidance, explaining professional responsibilities, and reviewing work products. -Prepares scopes, budgets, and schedules for assignments. -Traffic analysis and modeling utilizing various software tools such as Highway Capacity Software (HCS), Synchro, Sidra, and PTV software tools (Vissim/Vistro/Visum). -Occasionally designs portions of a project, system, component, or process. -Receives general direction on key objectives. Receives guidance on unconventional/complex problems, direction on modified techniques, and new approaches on assignments with conflicting criteria. -Designs and conducts analyses and interprets test data. -Occasionally assigns tasks to other technical and non-technical staff. -Safety data collection and analysis including crash data review, crash rate calculations, and Highway Safety Manual (HSM) analysis. -Design of traffic engineering elements including traffic signals, roadway lighting, signage and pavement markings, ITS infrastructure, and work zone traffic control. -Occasionally plans and coordinates detailed aspects of the engineering work. -Applies teamwork skills to effectively plan, execute, and manage scopes, schedules, and budgets to meet project stakeholder needs.

What You Bring

Driver's License Communication Skills Bachelors or better in Engineering or related field. Minimum Years of Experience -Communicates effectively to both technical and nontechnical audiences. -Professional Engineer (P.E.) License -4+ Years of Experience -Applies broad knowledge of principles and practices in a specific practice area. -B.S. or M.S. Engineering -Acquires general knowledge of principles and practices of related fields, and ability to function on multidisciplinary teams.
