Material Handler

Overview

Load, unload, move, and track materials using equipment to support shop operations.

Tasks

-Locate and prepare materials for outbound shipment and notify supervisor when shipment is ready. -Receives direct supervision. -Inspect and maintain storage yards and warehouses for cleanliness, etc. and report problems to supervisor. -Perform additional assignments per supervisor’s request. -While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to: stand, sit, talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, telephone, and a variety of office equipment. -Issue material by field requisition, locate and distribute material as directed by craft foreman and direct supervisor. -Coordinate and perform shipment loading and complete required paperwork. -May require delivering material to jobsites as needed; acceptable Motor Vehicle Report required for this task. -Load and unload materials within warehouse or storage facility. -Move materials to or from storage or worksites to designated areas, using hand truck or power device. -Ensure documentation is complete and accurate and check other employees paperwork for errors before completion -Maintain accurate records for any and all inventory transactions -Identify materials and items being received or shipped and ensure they are the correct items -Utilize hand trucks, forklifts, hoists, conveyors or other handling equipment to move material.

-Occasionally may need to reach, stoop, or kneel. -Awards: Whether in Construction, Manufacturing, Fabrication, or Service, RK Industries is highly recognized and accredited throughout the industry: Accreditations & Recognition -3+ Years of experience in Forklift and Material Handling ideally in heavy steel required. -Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision requirements due to computer work. -Experience with All Terrain extended boom and fork lift required, including Telehandler. -Relevant past experience is not necessarily required.
