The Role

Lead civil/structural design for rail infrastructure projects in Scotland.

Tasks

You’ll take technical ownership of projects from feasibility through detailed design, working on bridge reconstructions, platform renewals, station enhancements, and related civils schemes. -Ensure designs comply with Eurocodes, Network Rail and DMRB standards, and company procedures. -Lead design delivery across bridges, structures, and civil assets from concept through to detailed design. -Maintain awareness of programme, budget, and quality targets. -Represent the design function in client and site meetings. -Hands-on with design and analysis software (e.g., TSD, MIDAS, Superstress, AutoCAD). -Champion innovation, safety, and quality throughout the design process. -Produce, review, and check engineering calculations, drawings, and design reports. -Manage and mentor junior engineers, supporting their technical development.
