The Role

Overview

Install, maintain and troubleshoot UPS and critical power systems on site.

Tasks

-Install electrical equipment such as small rack-mounted UPS equipment, various-sized batteries, and UPS/Battery monitoring equipment. -Maintain Battery Cabinets and racks, Maintenance Bypass, Battery Monitoring Equipment, DC Systems, and other electrical equipment. -Lifting heavy objects and stretching above your head. -Field troubleshooting calls from customers to a satisfactory resolution. -Customer relationship building – Provide excellent customer service and upsell products. -Isolate basic hardware, software, and interface malfunctions utilizing various test equipment on multiple products and technologies. -Teach and mentor crew members on proper techniques for site work, troubleshooting, repair, and analyzing site data. -Coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining 100% safety awareness.

What You Bring

-Outstanding work ethic, punctuality, trustworthiness, and reliability – you will set the pace as a senior UPS/ Critical Power Engineer. -Quickly respond to critical situations. -Prior military training in electronics or avionics (A School, AIT, etc.) preferred. -Ability to lift and/or move up to 100 pounds for short durations. -Knowledge of test equipment operation, such as multi-meters and battery test equipment. -At Pearce, safety is our number one concern. Candidates must be able to comply with OSHA and applicable DOT Standards. -Minimum of three (3) years serving in a third-party critical power field service or technical support role with a demonstrated progression in technical proficiency and capability -OR- -Ability to stand for extended periods of time. -Read and interpret electronics schematics with the ability to troubleshoot failures/faults to the component level. -Good understanding of AC/DC electrical principles. -Ability to travel for multiple days with Per Diem as projects require. -Understand and have experience enforcing compliance with FCC/FAA/EPA/OSHA regulations and standards. -Must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record (if driving a Company Vehicle) and pass a pre-employment drug screen. -Periodic and lifecycle-driven performance of remedial services, including failure analysis and troubleshooting, component replacements and repairs, and battery string replacements and installations. -Good judgment with the ability to make timely and sound decisions within fast-paced changing priorities. -Minimum of five (5) years serving in an OEM service environment in the critical power space. -Ability to kneel or crouch periodically.
