Tasks
-Represent DLZ and its core values professionally in all interactions. -Maintain clear, detailed, and accurate field notes. -Operate advanced survey instruments including robotic total stations, automatic levels, data collectors, laser scanners, GPS, and other standard equipment to accurately gather field data. -Ensure the proper maintenance and operation of all field survey equipment, vehicles, and supplies. -Conduct all work with a strong commitment to safety, adhering to the Health and Safety Plan. -Interpret construction plans, perform necessary field calculations, and execute precise construction layout. -Lead a survey crew to complete control, topographic, boundary, construction layout, and utility location surveys. -Efficiently upload and download survey data files and photographs. -Effectively manage field work scope and schedules. -Mentor and coach junior field crew members, fostering their growth.

What You Bring
-Strong ability to perform basic mathematical and trigonometric calculations and understand error propagation in field surveys. -Experience with construction layout and/or utility corridor projects (preferred but not required). -Working knowledge of Trimble survey equipment and Trimble Business Center (preferred). -Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with clients, property owners, and coworkers. -Ability to obtain OSHA 30 Hour Construction Safety Certification. -Demonstrated aptitude for sound independent decision-making and providing clear direction to crew members. -3 to 5 years of progressive experience as a Survey Party Chief. -Valid driver's license along with the ability to pass a background check, an MVR check, and a drug test -Willingness to work in various weather conditions. -High School Graduate or equivalent (required); Associate's degree or higher in Surveying & Mapping or Civil Engineering Technology (preferred).
