Tasks

-Advise on projects involving the Safe System Approach (SSA), proven safety countermeasures and strategies, and the Highway Safety Manual -Attend conferences to share knowledge with safety professionals across the country -Lead the development of Vision Zero Action Plans, Regional Safety Plans, Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) Plans, Vulnerable Road User Assessments, Strategic Highway Safety Plans (SHSPs) and other safety planning efforts across the country -Contribute to the growing national safety practice and work on projects across the country -Assist with the development and mentoring of junior level staff and help them grow into safety professionals -Perform and review safety analyses

What You Bring

-Bachelor of Science degree from an ABET accredited civil engineering program -Proficiency MS Office is required, prior experience with IHSDM is a plus -PE registration required, RSP preferred -Proven verbal, presentation, written, and interpersonal communication skills -Expertise on the Safe System Approach, Vision Zero, and other safety principles as well as project management skills desirable -Self-motivated and adaptable, including the capability to learn virtual collaboration tools -7+ years of related experience in Transportation Engineering , Safety planning, or other engineering studies or analysis
