The Role

Overview

Perform civil engineering design, analysis, and field support for industrial projects.

Tasks

-Assist with drafting of plans and details for the completion of engineering drawings -Work with discipline lead engineer in identifying scope changes in projects -Produce medium complexity, complete design calculations, and complete assignments within budget and schedule -Perform land development and zoning code research for civil-site development projects -Assist with estimating and scheduling professional service hours and assessing the progress and quality of civil/structural work -Develop conceptual layouts and cost studies -Develop written construction specifications that define the scope of work, provide specific instruction, and prescribe quality standards -Provide design assistance on larger and more complex assignments -Produce reports for client and/or regulatory agencies -Perform fieldwork to gather data, check tie-ins, and provide construction support -Checking calculations made by other engineers to ensure accuracy, conformance to codes, specifications, design criteria and conformance to good engineering practice -Review and check submittal drawings and documentation

What You Bring

-Working knowledge of ArcGIS Pro is a plus -Virtual team skills and cross divisional relationships are developed, and able to provide interoffice execution leadership and support -Ability to lead small size teams in coordinating civil efforts and keeping the team focused on scope, schedule and budget -Good communication skills, both verbal and written -Familiarity with project scope, specifications, and design criteria upon assignment to a project task team -Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, maintaining focus and re-prioritizing as necessary to meet multiple commitments -Ability to read and understand local and state land development codes are essential -Knowledge and application of associated standards (ASCE, AASHTO, AREMA, NRCS, NFPA, etc.) -Working knowledge of Autodesk Civil3D is required -Ability to sit, stand, or walk for long periods of time. -Ability to work with a team to complete small and large projects -Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook -Able to assist with the development of presentations of Hargrove Engineers & Constructors services -Ability to actively listen and ascertain the needs of Teammates and Clients -Working knowledge of civil stormwater analysis software (SSA, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, and/or ICPR) including operating and interpreting results -Familiarity with and utilizing department design and drafting standards
