Tasks

-Managing and/or mitigating all quality concerns within the organization and associated projects -Providing guidance and mentorship to the Quality Team -Promoting and advocating quality achievement and performance improvement across the organization -Interacting with Management and colleagues for reporting, strategy development and execution planning -Planning/conducting QMS internal audit and review the effectiveness of QMS -Developing project Quality Management Plan (QMP) and Inspection & Test Plan (ITP) -Participating in the project kick-off meetings, ensuring project quality plans are executed and documented in accordance with the requirements of the contract -Advising management of areas for concern -Participating in the quality project audit and certification body audit to maintain company quality certifications (e.g. ISO, CISC, AISC, CWB, etc.) -Managing quality systems including the Quality System database, processes, and procedures

What You Bring

Supreme Steel is currently seeking a self-motivated, client focused and highly efficient Quality Manager, who knows steel, to lead our Quality team at our head office in Acheson AB. Primarily responsible for implementing and enforcing a company-wide Quality Management System (QMS), fostering a culture of collaboration and accountability, the Quality Manager ensures services are provided consistently and in accordance with the highest of quality standards. -Minimum 10 years’ related Canadian experience in the structural steel, bridge and/or manufacturing industry -CWB Division 1 Welding Engineer preferred -Strong attention to detail and accuracy -Detailed knowledge of Canadian and US Codes, such as CSA W59, W47.1, S16, S6, AWS D1.1/D1.5/D1.8, API650, API653, ASME Sect IX -Ability to read and interpret drawings to verify alignment and dimensions of products -CSA W178.2 Level 2 (or equivalent certificate) recommended -Exemplary communication skills, both written and verbal -Knows steel -Technical team leadership and problem-solving skills -Knowledge of AISC, CISC and ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems requirements; legislation, quality codes and standards -Minimum 4 years in a Quality Management role -Bachelor’s degree in Welding or Metallurgical Engineering is an asset
