The Role

Overview

Second Cook prepares starch and vegetable dishes for camp meals on 2‑week rotation.

Tasks

-Practice correct food handling guidelines and storage procedures -Assist the First Cook in the preparation of all menu items as needed -Perform work with arms at full length -Follow recipes, portion controls, and presentation specifications -Replenish desserts and condiment stations as required -Meet daily with the First Cook to discuss menu preparation and production strategy -Can be responsible for assisting with baking -Perform repetitive hand work requiring full use of both hands -Climb ladders or stairs -Assist in the cleanliness and maintenance of the kitchen and serving areas -Can be responsible for preparing and serving hot breakfast

What You Bring

-Ability to handle the following physical demands: -Ability to commit to a 2 week on/21week off rotation -Lift, carry, push or pull up to 50 lbs -Must have valid government issued photo ID for travel to site -Stand, walk, squat, kneel or sit according to task for extended periods of time -Work with arms above shoulder height -Current Food Safe certification is preferred -Ability to expand skills in a large camp atmosphere
