Tasks

-Create plans ensuring geometric calculations conform to required code and standards, -Meet deadlines and cost targets -Supervise and train technicians [and PEs (for licensed P.E.)] -Communicate with clients regarding updates and necessary adjustments -Maintain Professional Engineering registrations (for licensed P.E.) -Assist supervisor in development of plan sets and details, as well as project team meetings -Develop project specifications, provisions, and estimates adhering to client requirements -Establish and uphold client relationships -Model road designs using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, BIM, or GeoPak, InRoads, Guide Sign, and AutoTURN -Manage required project documentation, reports, and minutes -Ensure AASHTO codes, INDOT design manual requirements, and design standards are followed

Janssen & Spaans Engineering (JSE) is looking for a Road Design Senior Project Engineer to join our team! This role provides engineering excellence, plans, identifies, prioritizes, tracks and monitors tasks and sequences in the process to produce the desired outcome. The ideal candidate will have over ten (10) years’ experience in Civil Engineering or related field. P.E. license in the state of Indiana is optional; preferred, not required. Roadway projects include but are not limited to: Interstates, Highways, and Freeways, Urban Streets, Intersections including Roundabouts, and Interchange Layout. -In-depth knowledge of AASHTO and DOT standards (Required) -Substantial listening and communication skills -Skilled in MicroStation, BIM, and Microsoft Office programs; Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook (Required) -Exceptional Time management skills -Design Build and P3 knowledge -10+ Years’ Experience in related field (Required) -Department of Transportation project experience (Preferred) -Strong communication skills and capability to work autonomously and in a team environment -Extraordinary attention to detail -Strong analysis, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills -Licensed PE in Indiana (preferred not required) -Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (BSCE) (Required)
