The Role

Overview

Design and permit civil/land development projects, manage stormwater, grading, and client liaison.

Tasks

-Design and oversee site layout, grading, drainage, infrastructure, erosion, and sediment control from concept through completion. -Conduct stormwater management design, hydrologic/hydraulic analysis, and design and SWPPP preparation. -Prepare and modify engineering documents, including reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules, and cost estimates using engineering and design software such as AutoCAD and Civil 3D. -Integrate geotechnical and environmental engineering into land development projects.

What You Bring

-Ability to work comfortably with clients and participate in meetings. -Capability to work on both small and large projects. -Technical and proposal writing experience. -Maintain familiarity with current local, state, and federal land use permitting processes. -Excellent written and verbal communication skills. -2-5+ years of professional experience in site/civil design, including land development, stormwater management, site grading, erosion, and sediment control. -Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline. -EIT (Engineer-in-Training) Certification required, PE License preferred. -Local civil engineering experience in land development projects, ideally in Northern VA/DC. -Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
