Tasks

The General Cargo Operations Manager is to lead general cargo operations including the optimization of cargo flows, processes and procedures, safety, reporting, budgeting and leadership direct reports. -Analyze stakeholders’ needs, interests, and influence to prioritize engagement strategies. -Identify and address potential conflicts or issues with stakeholders proactively. -Contributes to and develops relationships with all suppliers and related port users -Ensure teams are trained specifically in their scope of work -Maintain fair, ethical and professional work practices in accordance with NEOM’s Values and Code of Conduct. -Manage divergent interests through prioritization -Ensure that all stakeholder engagement activities comply with the relevant regulations and ethical standards. -Uphold ethical standards in all stakeholder interactions and communications. -Provides leadership for all general cargo execution workstreams -Provides improvement and performance feedback and support to team on planning, vessel stevedoring and general cargo handling -Ensures team is trained in KSA and international standards with required certifications and diplomas -Track and monitor stakeholder engagement activities and their impact on project outcomes. -Develop strategies to deliver scope effectively and at highest performance levels -Use feedback and data to refine and improve stakeholder management strategies. -Enforces standardization and ensures safe working practices are being followed -Establishes performance targets, measurements and reporting transparently -Prepare and deliver presentations, reports, and other communication materials tailored to stakeholder needs. -Ensures a cost-efficient operation in line with current best practice and annual budget -Act with honesty and integrity by following best practices, and upholding the robust standards and expectations set out in NEOM’s Code of Conduct. -Act as the primary point of contact for stakeholders, addressing their concerns and providing updates on relevant activities. -Ensures highest possible safety standards through separation of man from machine and manpower engagement -Work closely with internal teams, including communications, project management, and legal, to ensure stakeholder interests are aligned with organizational objectives. -Creating an environment for continuous learning and development alongside a training team that ensures accountability and effective performance -Develop and implement stakeholder engagement plans tailored to different stakeholder groups. -Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders through regular communication and meetings. -Collaborate with team to establish safe working practices, identification of risks and mitigation points -Implementation of new equipment and systems -Coordinate stakeholder involvement in projects, ensuring their feedback is integrated into planning and decision-making processes. -Mediate disputes or misunderstandings, ensuring that resolutions are in the best interest of both the stakeholders and the organization. -Support and drives development of personalized safety culture -Leads, coaches, and develops team -Participates in planning and performance meetings internally and externally with internal and external customer base -Manages employee performance issues including training, appraisals, discipline, and grievances. -Manage the dissemination of information, ensuring timely and accurate communication. -Collaborate with training team to establish a training plan and training schedule for front and back-office team -Establishes and implements objectives, implementation planning, policies and procedures for general cargo operations. -Liaises closely with customers, Customs, landside mobility and government authorities to ensure that their requirements are met -Defines and updates procedures to ensure zero human engagement in shadow fall area or line of fire -Utilize data analytics to drive strategies and decisions. -Provide regular reports to senior management on stakeholder engagement status, risks, and opportunities. -Support direct reports through conflict resolution

Requirements

What You Bring

-Previous Project Implementation experience a plus -Develop self and always maintain knowledge in relevant field. -High attention to details to ensure the processes are optimized. -Excellent analytical skills -7+ years in general cargo roles with a minimum of 4 years in management positions. -Strong communication skills including ability to communicate across the organization and stakeholders effectively -Ability to build and sustain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. -Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with a wide range of stakeholders. -Ability to influence -Proven experience in safety, cost and productivity improvement as well as design and implementation of new operations procedures for continuous improvement -Ability to provide leadership, obtain cooperation and promote a team environment to meet objectives. -Ability to lead and influence others to achieve desired outcomes. -The position requires a professional standard of knowledge to lead teams through functional/general expertise in general cargo operations as well as broad management skills. -Bachelor’s degree in relevant field -Effective negotiation and conflict resolution skills -Knowledge of data analysis and reporting tools. -Competence in negotiating with stakeholders to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes. -Capability to identify inefficiencies and areas of improvement in existing processes.
