Tasks

-Experiment with different data science modeling approaches (e.g. deep learning, regression, boosting, trees, etc.) in Python and research state-of-the-art modeling techniques that could apply to energy forecasting problems -Develop, evaluate, automate, optimize, and monitor performance of new data science models and algorithms -Develop new model features in coordination with SMEs -Optimize and enhance computational efficiency of algorithms and software design -Develop both prototype models and production software -Supporting existing commercial software and production systems

What You Bring

-Time series modeling and advanced statistics -Ability to communicate with impact and confidence, both verbally and in writing -This position also involves algorithms in statistics and finance applications, stochastic search, simulating high penetrations of wind and solar energy, optimizing generation under uncertainty, and planning and control of electric battery storage. -Experience in Python and relevant libraries (e.g., NumPy, Pandas, SciPy) -Bachelors Degree or higher in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Operations Research, Economics, Power Systems, or related discipline -1+ years of industry or academic experience in the field -Prior knowledge of, or strong interest in learning about wholesale electricity markets -Strong interpersonal skills, teamwork skills, and work ethic
