The Role

Overview

Tasks

-Ensure customer needs are met efficiently by collaborating with Sales and Customer Service teams. -Collaborate with the Technical Director to minimise risks and ensure design approval for new schemes. -Work with the land and development team to secure new projects, aligning with the regional business plan. -Manage recruitment, induction, and performance appraisals, while ensuring a discrimination-free workplace and adherence to company policies. -Oversee the WIP release process, ensuring deliverables meet quality standards and align with project milestones. -Lead the construction team, monitoring progress, managing risks, and ensuring timely, on-budget delivery through regular programme reviews. -Promote collaboration across departments to ensure timely project execution and minimize delays. -Partner with the commercial team to manage procurement, contracts, and profitability in line with the regional plan. -Drive a culture of safety, health, and environmental excellence, using SHE data to implement continuous improvements. -Provide support in securing new work opportunities, ensuring construction input for housebuilding and partner delivery schemes. -Engage with the supply chain and work closely with the Customer Service Director to ensure high service levels. -Hold responsibility for the quality of homes built, producing regular reports for regional boards.

What You Bring

-A strong operations and commercial leader with a proven track record of success working on new build housing contracts and multi-story residential apartment schemes ranging from £5m-£60m -Sufficiently competent in the use of IT systems to ensure processes, programmes and customer service initiatives are effectively followed -Degree qualified in a relevant qualification, i.e. Construction Management / Project Management. -Understanding and competence of programme approach and software -A wealth of experience working as an Operations/Construction Director or Head of Construction/Operations or equivalent -Management/Leadership Training e.g. ILM -Strong technical knowledge of construction methodologies from inception to project completion -Knowledge of SHE procedures and policies -An innovative thinker with the ability to identify and drive through positive changes -Experience of PLC policies and procedures relating to SHE / Quality / Employment
