Overview

Coordinate mechanical engineering tasks for commercial or institutional projects

Tasks

-Write and edit mechanical specifications, and select mechanical systems and devices -Take responsibility for construction contract administration requiring field inspections and conflict resolution -Coordinate mechanical aspects of commercial or institutional projects -Prepare construction documents for HVAC and plumbing design of buildings, including drawings, specifications and reports -Perform routine mechanical engineering assignments requiring application of standard techniques and procedures -Supervise work of Mechanical CAD Technicians, and coordinate design of assigned projects with architectural staff and other engineering disciplines -Work independently on small projects, or assist moresenior engineers on larger projects -Utilize engineering software to develop HVAC loads, energy analysis and mechanical equipment selections

What You Bring

-Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate -Candidates hired without their EIT will have the title of "Coordinator" and will be expected to obtain their EIT for career progression. -Healthcare, Science and Technology and/or Civic facilities experience -Previous experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm -Experience and/or interest in sustainable design/LEED desired but not required -Master's degree in Architectural Engineering with Mechanical emphasis
