The Role

Overview

Oversee gate wheelchair assistance, coordinate staff, ensure smooth passenger transfers.

Tasks

-Support and assign Passenger Assistants when there are multiple passengers or needing extra assistance. -Ensure an adequate number of wheelchairs are available and organized for each gate. -Assist with the passengers who need a wheelchair between connecting flights when needed. -Coordinate with dispatcher, coordinator and shift leaders regarding gate assignments, delays, or passenger issues. -Communicate with passengers about the airport and airline services available. -Report on any issues such as late arrivals, no-shows, or gate changes. -Maintain awareness of flight schedules and arrival times to anticipate transfer needs. -Monitor and manage a group of assigned gates to ensure all passengers who need wheelchairs receive assistance efficiently.

What You Bring

-Previous experience in customer service. or similar work experience preferred. -Must meet all requirements to receive required airport SIDA badge and Customs Seal (if applicable), including ten-year work history if available. -Effective communication skills and professionalism. -Able to lift and maneuver wheelchairs when needed. -Ability to work in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment. -Must be able to read, write and communicate in English. -Must be 18 years of age or older. -High school diploma or GED required. -Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
