  • Provide technical expertise on reinforced concrete design in tunnelling environments.
  • Liaise with the design office and construction team for technical consistency.
  • Ensure CDM aspects are fully discharged during the construction period.
  • Communicate progress, risks, and mitigations effectively to stakeholders.
  • Support the release and handover of design packages for construction.
  • Manage construction configuration and design change documentation.
  • Carry out surveillance on design changes to support nuclear safety acceptance.
  • Review and accept design changes raised by contractors through formal processes.
  • Ensure golden thread between design, safety case, and operational requirements.
  • Draft action plans and programmes to achieve project objectives.

  • Knowledge of repair methods for RC underground structures.
  • Knowledge of UK CDM regulations in regulated industries.
  • Offshore structure design experience.
  • Strong knowledge of secondary lining in tunnels and shafts.
  • Familiarity with construction change procedures.
  • Working knowledge of Eurocode 2 concrete design standards.
  • Tunnelling Safety Training Scheme (TSTS) qualification.
  • Working towards or Chartered Engineer status (ICE or IStructE).
  • Tunnelling design experience (TBM, pipe jack, linings).
  • Advanced degree in civil or structural engineering.
  • Experience with hazard and accidental load design.
  • Experience in large-scale, multi-cultural industrial projects.
  • Expertise in pipe jacking methods and structures.
