The Role

Overview

Install, assemble, maintain, and repair commercial/industrial piping systems per specs.

Tasks

-Adhere to safety protocols, PPE requirements, lock-out/tag-out procedures, and job-site housekeeping. -Install fittings, valves, flanges, couplings and other components in piping systems. -Maintain tools, equipment and parts inventory; report needs and ensure materials are staged for job. -Review and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine pipe routing, supports, system layout and hangers. -Select, cut, thread, bend and fit pipe (steel, stainless steel, copper, or other materials) and install pipe hangers, supports, brackets. -Assemble and install piping systems for hot water, steam, chilled water, HVAC mechanical distribution, process piping, etc. -Pressure-test piping systems, observe gauges, inspect for leaks, make adjustments or repairs. -Collaborate with project managers, foremen, other trades (mechanical, HVAC, plumbing) to ensure compliance, timely installation, coordination.

What You Bring

-Must be able to safely lift at least 50 lbs; use ladders, scaffolding, and other job-site equipment. -Knowledge of pipe material types (steel, stainless, copper, etc.), hanger/support systems, and pipe-joining techniques (threading, grooved, flange) as applicable. -Proficient in using pipe-cutting, threading, bending tools, hand/power tools associated with pipe-fitting. -Minimum of 3+ years pipefitting experience in commercial, industrial or HVAC mechanical environments. -Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, isometric drawings, piping schematics and installation drawings. -Familiarity with applicable piping codes (e.g., ASME B31) and mechanical installation standards. Lincoln Tech+2Indeed+2 -Physically capable of heavy lifting (up to 50+ lbs frequently), prolonged standing, bending, kneeling, working at heights and sometimes outdoors or in mechanical rooms. -Ability to relocate before start date (required). -Journeyman pipefitter card or certificate preferred. -OSHA 10 (or higher) certification or willingness to obtain. -Valid driver's license and reliable transportation; willingness to relocate locally to Lexington, KY prior to start. -Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, ability to work independently and in a team environment. -Ability to travel locally/regional as job demands and maintain required tools/equipment. -Prolonged periods of standing and walking; frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching overhead; lifting, pushing, pulling heavy items. -Experience with commercial HVAC mechanical piping systems (chilled/hot water systems, steam) strongly preferred. -Experience in a mechanical contractor environment beneficial.
