The Role

Overview

Operate material handler to load/unload and move aggregate at yard.

Tasks

-Follow all company and OSHA safety regulations and procedures. -Monitor machine systems and report issues or defects to maintenance personnel. -Operate a minimal Five Yard - Material Handler (crawler or wheeled configuration) equipped with clamshell, and other attachments. -Maintain accurate operational logs or input into systems as needed. -Inspect equipment daily and perform basic maintenance checks (e.g., fluid levels, leaks, greasing). -Keep work areas clean and free of hazards. -Sort, stack, and move materials in accordance with site procedures and safety regulations. -Load and unload trucks, railcars, or barges. -Work collaboratively with ground crews, and other personnel to ensure smooth operation flow. -May assist in training new operators or laborers.

What You Bring

-Team player mentality required -Previous Quarry or Sales Yard experience preferred. -Hydraulic and mechanical troubleshooting skills preferred -Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety required -Ability to read and interpret load charts, safety manuals, and job instructions preferred -Excellent verbal and written communications skills required. -1+ years of experience as a Material Handler operator is preferred. -Good organizational, scheduling and time management skills are preferred. -Working outdoors in varied weather conditions with the probability of dust, noise, heat, and cold. -Able to do safety and maintenance inspections throughout the day. -Physical ability to sit for extended periods, climb into/out of equipment. -Experience operating other heavy equipment (e.g., excavators, wheel loaders, cranes) preferred -Ability to work flexible hours and overtime as needed. -Day Shift -Experience working with loading / unloading of trucks/barges preferred. -Must pass pre-employment drug testing. -Ability to understand basic safety and work instruction required
