The Role

Overview

Inspect highway structures, identify defects, and ensure compliance with safety standards.

Tasks

-Promote a culture of continuous improvement and professional development. -Conduct on-site inspections when required, ensuring compliance with current -Track supplier progress and ensure timely execution of inspection tasks -Ensure all necessary briefings, health and safety documentation and other -Liaise with the Logistics Manager and Senior Inspector to book road space -Keep accurate logs and records from all structure inspections. -Maintain effective working relationships with external partners and -Attention to detail, ensuring the inspection defect reporting meets quality, and -Carry out site supervision when required and to ensure work on site is carried -Deliver constructive feedback to improve inspection quality and adherence to -Monitor and update the inspection programme to reflect progress and -Collaborate with internal teams across Asset and Project Delivery and Service -Report monthly Inspection KPI’s -Assist with configuring new systems used for collecting Inspections data. -Inspect and identify defects in structures of various form and material, in

What You Bring

-Understanding of defects in concrete, steel, masonry, and other -Knowledge of principal repair techniques for common structure -Experience in inspection programmes or infrastructure delivery. -Knowledge of testing techniques and when/how to apply them. -A positive attitude and advanced understanding of health and -Digital skills in Agile Assets, Confirm, and Microsoft Packages. -Full driving licence with a maximum of three penalty points. -Familiarity with inspection standards and quality assurance -Ability to manage and motivate teams. -A current CSCS card, for the appropriate level to enable site -Proficiency with Structure inspection tools and IT. -Strong judgement, attention to detail, ability to work to deadlines, -A minimum of three years in highway inspection, construction or a -Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities. -Knowledge of traffic management and road space permitting. -Must be certified (or working towards) the Bridge Inspector
