The Role
Overview
Manage parts inventory, receiving, issuing, and ordering for transit fleet maintenance.

Tasks
-Physically places parts in the proper location after the items have been properly received -Annually and as needed, physically counts parts/supplies and gives information to Parts Supervisor -Orders parts and materials from various vendor networks -Assist with AP coding of invoices with correct code number -Receiving, counting, and inspecting parts materials to ensure accurate quantity and quality -Make daily/weekly inventory counts of parts room items to ensure proper identification and re-supply needs -Distributes requested parts to mechanics -Receives parts requisition order forms from mechanics and other maintenance personnel -Drive to deliver or pick up parts when required -Process requisitions for parts requested by Management or Mechanic Leader -Performs audits of parts and materials -Obtains parts from bins and posts parts to computerized work order and compares labor code on requisition to computer code -Research parts number either from manufacturer's supply catalogue or on computer -Assist Parts Manager with purchase orders

What You Bring
-High School Diploma or GED and valid driver’s license -Must have strong organizational skills -Ability to operate a Forklift and pass the In-house Forklift Training Certification Program -Analysis and problem-solving skills -Communication skills -Basic mechanical knowledge required or the ability to learn the parts for the different vehicles required -Drug and alcohol screening: Employment contingent upon passing pre-employment drug and alcohol screen. Also, contingent upon receiving a favorable background check. Must pass a physical examination. -Two (2) years parts stock room experience preferably in Transit but will accept automotive, trucking and or any parts experience related to the field of Fleet Maintenance. -Inventory skills are essential -Being able to work in a fast-paced environment -Capable of lifting up-to 75lbs. Clean and organize parts room weekly -General computer database knowledge required such as but not limited to, EAM, Microsoft Office, Cummins Quick Serve, FEDEX Freight Manager Systems and ability to learn various vendor software systems
