Overview

Inspect construction quality and verify gateway records to ensure Building Safety compliance

Tasks

You’ll be the link between site operations, technical, and compliance teams, supporting build quality, reducing risk, and helping maintain the highest standards across every development. -Confirm competency documentation is in place for all consultants and contractors. -Play a pivotal role in shaping safer, better-built homes. -Audit QA records and Building Safety Regulator documentation at all major construction milestones. -Ensure all required inspections and testing are completed, documented, and stored correctly. -Monitor the quality of materials delivered and used on site. -Inspecting construction activities: materials, workmanship, compliance with drawings/specifications, building regulations, and company quality standards. -Verify accuracy and completeness of QA records produced by subcontractors and site management. -Ensure duty holder requirements within the Mandatory Occurrence, Change Control, Fire Emergency, and Construction Control Plans are adhered to. -Identify, record, and help coordinate the resolution of non-conformances and defects. -Carry out regular site inspections across all build stages to ensure work meets approved plans, specifications, and building regulations. -Attend monthly Building Safety Act duty holder meetings and present key findings. -Review contractor workmanship, design intent compliance, and safety adherence. -Collaborate with Site Managers, Technical Managers, and contractors to resolve quality issues efficiently. -Assist project teams in establishing and monitoring the project Quality Plan. -Sign off “hold points” for BSR data collection at each build stage. -Verifying QA and Gateway 3 documentation compiled by sub-contractors and site teams, ensuring all golden thread information is complete, accurate, and audit-ready. -Support pre-handover and final acceptance inspections.

What You Bring

-Exceptional attention to detail, communication skills, and a methodical approach. -Experience in document control within a construction environment; strong grasp of golden thread principles. -Diploma or Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Building Inspection, or a related field. -ISO 9001 or Building Inspector certifications are an advantage. -Confident reading and interpreting architectural, structural, and MEP drawings. -Proficient with document management systems such as Asite, Viewpoint, BIM 360. -Commercially aware with a strong understanding of risk management. -Knowledge of the Building Safety Act 2022 and Gateway processes—particularly Gateway 3. -3–5 years’ experience in QA/QC or site inspection within residential construction (housing, apartments, or high-risk buildings). -Strong understanding of building regulations, build stages, and inspection procedures.
