Tasks

In this role, you will lead development of backend systems that power our core platform. You’ll design and scale services that handle complex workflows, integrate data from thousands of devices, and ensure the reliability of our growing systems. Your work will directly impact how effectively our technology operates at scale. -Build and optimize data pipelines and APIs that power fleet health, event reporting, and operator tools. -Ensure reliability, security, and observability across distributed systems handling continuous sensor data from the field. -Design and scale backend services that connect thousands of Gridware devices to the cloud, enabling real-time monitoring and fault detection. -Collaborate with firmware, data, and frontend teams to deliver seamless end-to-end functionality across hardware and cloud. -Contribute to architecture decisions that improve communication efficiency, platform scalability, and system resilience.

What You Bring

-Familiarity with observability tools such as OpenTelemetry, Grafana, and Mimir -3+ years of professional software engineering experience in product-driven companies -Strong expertise in modern backend languages and relational databases (e.g., Python, PostgreSQL, GraphQL) -Experience designing and scaling distributed systems or data-intensive applications -Experience building products end-to-end with broad ownership -Ability to thrive in a low-structure, high-autonomy environment with competing priorities -Background working in hardware/software contexts or other operationally complex environments
