Overview

Design and manage water resources projects for an environmental consulting firm.

Tasks

-Reviews local, state, and federal regulations to ensure compliance. -Performs field assessments to evaluate and document existing site-specific conditions or collect design criteria or evaluation data. -Supports a variety of projects that may include planning, evaluation, design, and construction of wastewater, water resources management, and stormwater treatment systems. -Assists project managers and team leads to execute work involving conventional and innovative environmental and ecological engineering designs and other related infrastructure projects. -Applies approved standard operating practices to field and data management practices. -Performs calculations, prepare technical drawings, specifications, and reports under supervision. -Checks performance or conformity with design plans and specifications through field inspection and reporting. -Participates on interdisciplinary research teams to conduct environmental studies, permitting, and alternative analyses. -Writes and reviews technical reports including figures and tables. -Contributes to the development of proposals and scopes of work in response to client task requests.

What You Bring

-Experience with GIS editing and data management using ESRI ArcGIS and ArcGIS Online software. -Able to pass a background check. -Ability to learn through on-the-job experience -Knowledge of the regulatory processes in Florida. -Knowledge of the regulatory processes in Florida -Ability to move across a variety of uneven terrains such as mud, rock, grass, dirt, and other unpaved terrains to conduct field work including collection of soil, soil vapor, groundwater, surface water, stormwater, and sediment -Ability to remain alert and vigilant while working in urban environments and be able to walk swiftly for a short distance to clear an area where a potential hazard is identified -Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related water resources discipline; Master’s degree preferred. -Numerical modeling skills are preferred -Valid U.S. Driver’s License and good driving record required. -Ability to demonstrate professional demeanor in written and verbal communications with clients, regulatory officials, and fellow employees -Experience with surface water, groundwater, and integrated modeling codes such as HEC-RAS, ICPR, MIKE-SHE, and/or SWMM. -Ability to safely drive a full-size pickup truck -Ability to work in adverse seasonal weather conditions -PE License in Florida. -Five (5) years of experience in water resources engineering. -Experience in AutoCAD and Civil 3D preferred, MEP/Revit, and hydraulic modeling platforms. -Federal experience, including DoD experience preferred -Ability to wear required safety equipment at sites including hard hats, steel toed boots (or other approved toe protection), etc. -Ability to work effectively on a cross-disciplinary team under tight and pressured deadlines -Experience with Green Infrastructure, Water Quality, or Coastal Resilience projects. -Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office products. -Due to the nature of the work, U.S. Citizenship is required -Ability to successfully manage and deliver on multiple tasks with competing priorities -Related project management and/or supervisory experience is preferred. -Strong aptitude for researching and solving technical problems -Strong technical skills and scientific integrity -Experience with surface water, groundwater, and integrated modeling software -Solid technical writing skills and effective communication skills.
