Tasks

The Senior Cost Engineer is responsible for the effective management, control and reporting of project costs for larger projects in a consistent manner and in accordance with all relevant Company policies and procedures. -Management and provision of guidance and assistance to Cost Engineers -Review and approve client Purchase Orders / PD&MS Contract Review sheets in accordance with contract requirements -Review and commercially approve CTRs / CVOs and terms and conditions -Regularly monitor man-hour expenditure versus budget and physical progress, ensuring potential over-runs are identified and actioned in a timely manner -Responsible for ensuring professional development is maintained and identified competency requirements are undertaken in a timely manner -Establish and maintain close working relationships with Finance, Procurement, Planning and Commercial Teams -In conjunction with the PRP review and approve all Purchase invoices ensuring compliance with budget -Work proactively and meet with client representatives -Generate and maintain accurate cost reports in a format and frequency that provides clear visibility of the status of expenditure against budgets for internal use -Identify variances in project budget and in conjunction with PRP expediently implement corrective actions -Work proactively with relevant PRP to ensure that commitments and costs are tracked and controlled -Evaluate outgoing RFQ’s, carry out bid evaluations and provide recommendation for subsequent Purchase Orders in conjunction with the PRP, for 3rd party services -In conjunction with the PRP, responsible for the management and expedient recovery of Work in Progress costs -Actively participate in project kick-off and progress meetings -Provide Cost Engineering service to the contract with responsibility for the accurate Cost Reporting of complete projects or individual elements within major projects -Liaise directly with Finance to ensure sales invoices are prepared and issued in a timely manner and resolve invoicing queries -Maximise sales invoicing on an on-going basis through awareness of project status and billing milestones -Produce regular cost reports for clients as required by the Contract Agreement or Company requirements detailing CTR and CVO values, client approved PO values, billed to date, committed costs, forecast final costs, as a minimum for external reporting -Proactively identify and highlight areas of concern or commercial risks to Commercial Manager

What You Bring

-Proficient in reviewing and interpreting plans and schedules -Adherence to the Company Integrated Management System -HND or equivalent in a relevant subject -Proactive in the provision of improvement proposals to streamline the invoicing / cost reporting process -Competent in the use of MS applications -Excellent written and spoken English -Demonstrable experience in similar projects -Demonstrable People Management experience
