Electrical Engineer - FPGA

Baker Hughes

The Role

Overview

Develop and test FPGA-based hardware for handheld remote visual inspection devices.

Key Responsibilities

  • altium design
  • fpga design
  • borescope design
  • manufacturing test
  • hardware debug
  • cross‑functional experiments

Tasks

-Work with production engineering and production associate's in real-time resolution of hardware issues. -Develop electrical architectures and detailed electrical designs, mainly through circuit board design in the Altium toolset. The primary design challenges are low noise, high bandwidth circuitry, lowest reasonable power, wired and wireless connectivity, digital signal processing, and other typical battery-operated system paradigms. We also develop robust designs for the exclusive use of our factories. -Mentor junior engineers (dependent on experience level) -Optimizing designs within FPGA resource constraints, resolving timing issues, documenting FPGA design and build / deploy processes. Desired experience would include developing Linux drivers for FPGA IP in a Xilinx petalinux environment -Devise and execute cross-functional (HW, SW, Mechanical) experiments to alleviate high-risk portions of designs, thereby enabling programs to launch on time. -Design and develop the electrical systems for our world-class video borescopes. -As a part of a project team on execute activities including troubleshooting, validation, testing, experimentation, and test reporting. -The position requires individuals to be on-site so they can work with the various design and development teams along with supporting the manufacturing operations. -Develop and execute electronic manufacturing tests to ensure a high-quality product delivery to our mission-critical customer base. -Document products and technical data generated consistent with engineering policies and procedures.
