The Role
Overview
Oversee multi-state payroll, compliance, and team coordination

Tasks
-Lead initiatives and system projects for assigned locations -Ensure compliance and serve as a subject matter expert on all applicable laws and payroll tax obligations -Resolve issues and answer payroll-related questions -Collaborate with project teams, partnering with external and internal stakeholders -Maintain accurate records and prepare reports -Supervise and mentor staff as needed -Oversee and direct all payroll processing and procedures -Liaise with auditors and manage payroll tax audits -Provide timely reporting as needed and other ad hoc projects -Oversee processing of payroll changes (e.g. new hires, terminations, raises, bonuses, etc) and system upgrades -Coordinates with the broader payroll, time & attendance, and finance teams -Identify and lead process improvements for process payroll account transactions (e.g. salaries, benefits, garnishments, deductions, taxes and third party payments)

What You Bring
Drug and alcohol screening: Employment contingent upon passing pre-employment drug and alcohol screen. Also, contingent upon receiving a favorable background check. Must pass a physical examination. -Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with a proficiency in Excel -High level of expected collaboration across all departments and peers -Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to work across departments -Strong communication skills is a must -Experience dealing with Union payroll processing required -Ability to meet critical deadlines and achieve organizational objectives -Accounting or Business Degree is preferred -5+ years of proven experience as Payroll Manager -High level of expected collaboration with Human Resources and accountants across all divisions -Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written) and maintain highest level of company standards -Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills a must -Multi-state payroll, benefits and tax knowledge required -Ability to exercise discretion and confidentiality is essential -Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment to meet required deadlines -UltiPro and Workforce management experience strongly preferred -Experience working in a collaborative environment -Proficiency with payroll software; experience with Microsoft D365 a plus -Intermediate mathematic skills -Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) or Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation is preferred
