Tasks

You’ll be part of a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team that delivers strategic, commercially focused planning advice to clients across the capital and beyond. -Researching planning policy, site constraints and development potential -Assisting with planning applications, appeals and representations -Preparing planning appraisals and feasibility studies -Keeping up to date with planning legislation and policy changes -Contributing to reports and day-to-day team delivery. -Liaising with clients, local authorities, architects and consultants -Supporting development strategies, site acquisitions and disposals -Attending site visits, meetings and public consultations

What You Bring

We’re looking for a proactive and ambitious Graduate Planner to join our Planning & Development team at Daniel Watney, in September 2026. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience across a wide range of projects - from residential and commercial schemes to mixed-use developments - while working towards chartership (typically via the RTPI APC pathway). -RTPI-accredited degree or master’s in Town Planning or a related subject -Exposure to high-profile and complex projects -Strong written and verbal communication skills -A proactive, problem-solving mindset -Familiarity with the UK planning system and the London Plan. -Previous work experience or a placement in a planning or property environment -Confidence working with data, maps and planning documents
