The Role

Overview

Systems Engineering Intern for GNSS receiver design, testing, analysis, and production support.

Tasks

-Test set-up, test automation, manual testing and debugging, data collection, and data analysis -Conduct design and test reviews with a cross-functional design/test team -Presentation of test/analysis results and recommendations -Write test reports -Develop analysis tools through scripting, graphing, and other means -Gain an understanding of the system through development of test/characterization plans -Interface with Manufacturing to optimize production yield -Analysis of characterization and sustaining data for fielded products

What You Bring

-Basic understanding of RF/digital circuits, and GNSS principles -Enrolled in Electrical, Geomatics, Systems, Software, or Computing Engineering at an accredited post secondary institution -C++, Matlab/Simulink, Python, Batch, or other scripting languages -If you are a UofC student, Electrical Engineering 471: Introduction to Communication Systems and Networks is a useful course for you in this position -Registered in the Engineering Internship/Co-op program and have completed your 2 nd year of studies prior to the start of your work term -MIcrosoft Power BI or other data analysis tools -Previous wireless communication and Radio Frequency (RF) experience would be an asset -Strong academic credentials -Able to work in a collaborative team environment -Analytical and troubleshooting skills -Willingness to learn and dig into aspects of complex systems -Strong written and verbal communication skills -Detail oriented person able to follow complex instructions with a “first-time right” attitude -Strong debugging and problem solving skills -Digital Signal Processing (DSP) knowledge would be an asset -Hands on experience using common lab equipment, such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, and data logging programs -Familarity with version control systems, such as Git, for managing code and collabration -Ability to manually debug hardware and/or software problems to identify root causes
