The Role

Overview

Diagnose, upgrade & service marine HVAC/AC control panels and PLC systems onboard ships.

Tasks

-Execute Annual Maintenance Contracts (AMC) for starters, control panels, instrumentation, and motors associated with AC and HVAC systems onboard ships. -Troubleshoot and repair control panels, instrumentation, starters, and motors for AC plants and HVAC systems onboard ships. -Analyze operational data from onboard logbooks to identify and resolve defects. -Execute retrofit projects and commission control panels for AC plants and HVAC systems on marine vessels. -Perform service and upgrades on control panels, incorporating the latest versions of PLC software, HMI, controllers, I/O modules, analog modules, motor protection units, and control relay modules. -Interpret manuals, P&ID diagrams, and electrical drawings to troubleshoot AC and HVAC system panels. -Diagnose and rectify defects in PLC software within control panels, including uploading and downloading programs.

What You Bring

-Working knowledge of PLCs, starter panels, and controllers for HVAC, AC, and fire systems. -Experience: 5–8 years of hands-on experience servicing HVAC and AC system panels onboard ships -Proficiency in servicing HVAC and AC system panels on marine vessels. -Ability to read and interpret P&ID diagrams, control philosophies, and electrical schematics. -Ability to prepare detailed service reports. -Education: Diploma or Degree in Instrumentation or Electronics Engineering. -Understand control philosophies and implement retrofits for panels. -Excellent communication skills in English for interaction with customers and internal teams. -Strong understanding of AC plant and HVAC system operations. -Expertise in uploading/downloading PLC programs (Siemens, Allen Bradley, Phoenix, etc.). -Willingness to travel extensively across Indian ports and occasionally to international locations at short notice.
