Tasks
As our Marketing & Business Development Director, you will set the course for FPC’s marketing and business development efforts, shaping strategy and driving growth at a pivotal moment in the firm’s history. You will be responsible for guiding brand positioning, strengthening client relationships, and ensuring a coordinated approach to winning work across our target markets and services. This senior leadership position works closely with firm leadership to elevate FPC’s visibility, build lasting relationships, and lead a culture of business development across the firm. -Shape Strategy: Develop and lead firm-wide marketing and business development strategies that align with FPC’s vision, markets, and legacy. -Guide Pursuits: Lead pursuit planning for high-profile and strategic projects, ensuring that our proposals and presentations communicate clear value and differentiation. -Champion Innovation: Introduce tools, best practices, and insights from broader industry trends to keep FPC at the forefront of marketing and business development in the A/E/C field. -Grow Relationships: Build enduring connections with clients, collaborators, and community partners, elevating the firm’s profile and influence. -Strengthen Our Brand: Oversee brand positioning and visibility across platforms, reinforcing FPC’s reputation for design excellence and craft. -Direct Seller-Doers: Establish firmwide BD goals and ensure seller-doers execute their responsibilities; provide structure, accountability, and coaching to strengthen client engagement and pursuit activity. -Inspire Teams: Mentor and collaborate with Principals, seller-doers, and marketing staff to foster a culture of business development, creativity, and client focus.

What You Bring
-Strategic Thinking: Strong background in developing and executing long-term marketing and business development strategies. -Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with CRM systems, content management, marketing analytics tools, and Adobe Creative Suite. -Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and inspire teams, manage complex initiatives, and collaborate across all levels of an organization. -Communication Skills: Excellent written, visual, and verbal communication abilities. -Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field with 10+ years of relevant experience in the A/E/C industry. CPSM certification required; Pinnacle Experience by SMPS preferred. Established A/E/C network and involvement in SMPS highly desirable.
