  • Perform routine maintenance on diesel equipment, including oil changes, filter replacements, and fluid checks.
  • Disassemble & assemble pumps & lines for the fuel system.
  • Follow all safety procedures and regulations.
  • Perform troubleshooting & diagnosing circuit faults.
  • Inspect diesel equipment and related equipment for safety and compliance issues.
  • Test & adjust all of the following hydraulic and hydrostatic systems.
  • Respectful - Treats other employees or customers with courtesy, dignity and respect.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical problems.
  • Keep up-to-date on the latest diesel equipment technology.

  • Additional vocational/trade school training in a mechanical field is also preferred.
  • Equipment Operation - Proficiency in operating large equipment, including understanding the controls, gauges, and indicators. Ability to manipulate equipment accurately and smoothly for various tasks. Skill in handling attachments and understanding their applications. Strong sense of spatial awareness to maneuver the loader safely in tight spaces, around obstacles and in congested work areas.
  • Previous experience with CAT SIS or ET programs highly desired.
  • Safety Awareness - Ability to recognize, understand, and adhere to safety protocols and procedures in the workplace; proactive in identifying potential hazards, taking steps to mitigate risks, and ensuring that both personal and collective safety are maintained in all tasks and environments.
  • Ability to properly troubleshoot Tier 4 Systems.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Previous experience working on diesel or heavy construction equipment is preferred.
  • Work independently and as part of a team.
  • Must be able to work outside in all types of weather conditions and tolerate being exposed to loud noises.
  • Troubleshooting of fuel system including ability to perform diagnostic test with manufacturer software.

  • Valid driver's license.
  • Must have some knowledge of industrial tools, their uses, and maintenance.
  • Knowledge of general principles and practices of servicing heavy construction equipment is preferred.
  • Overnight travel required.
  • Advanced knowledge to diagnose and repair diesel engines and related equipment including air systems, oil analysis, cooling system.
  • Communication - Ability to clearly and effectively convey information, ideas, and messages to others in both written and verbal formats; can express one's thoughts clearly but also demonstrate active listening, understands the needs of the audience, and adapts the message to ensure it is understood.
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Related equipment knowledge on engines, hydraulics, electronics, Tier 4 Systems and fuel systems.
  • General understanding of basic electrical, powertrain and hydraulic knowledge, moderate usage of CAT SIS and Vulcan EMS processes.
  • Must be willing to work overtime and extended hours depending on customer and company demands.
  • Willing to travel to all locations within geographic area.
  • Attention to Detail - Ability to thoroughly and accurately complete tasks, ensuring that no aspects or elements are overlooked; meticulous and precise when handling information, performing tasks, or delivering work, and is critical in ensuring the quality, accuracy, and integrity of the results.
  • Basic troubleshooting for entire fuel system.
  • Experience with aggregate equipment a plus.
  • Knowledge of general principles and practices of servicing heavy construction equipment.
