The Role

Overview

Install and service electrical rough/finish systems in new residential homes.

Tasks

-Installs circuit breakers and other electrical hardware and connects wiring to them. -Replaces circuit breakers as needed. -Installs conduits and pipes to house electrical wires and cables. -Installs and repairs electrical wiring, systems, and fixtures in residential new construction homes. -Replaces conduit and wiring as needed. -Ensures piping complies with electrical codes. -Reading and interpreting technical drawings, and blueprints, to identify proper wire placement. -Tests electrical systems to ensure proper installation and operation. -Inspects electrical components to ensure safety, and correct installation. -Connects electrical systems to powerlines to provide electricity to the building.

What You Bring

-Must be physically capable of pulling wires and cables through conduits. -Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. -Ability to read blueprints. -Physical dexterity. -Ability to use hand tools and power tools. -Prolonged periods standing, kneeling, bending, and climbing ladders or scaffolding. -A Valid Driver’s License and clean Motor Vehicle Report. -Must have at least 2 years of fast-paced residential electrical new construction experience. -Must be able to see color to discern color-coded wiring. -Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time. -Must possess own hand tools and power tools to execute electrical jobs. -High school diploma or equivalent required. -Completion of a formal apprenticeship and valid electrician’s license preferred. -Good work ethic and willingness to learn new methods. -Fully understands local and federal regulations for safe electrical systems. -Extensive knowledge of electrical systems and wiring. -Must be able to install boxes, wire, devices, lighting, breakers, and equipment according to local and NEC codes. -Proficient in the use of test meters and other diagnostic equipment.
