Senior Construction Inspector

Overview

Inspect and oversee bridge/highway construction projects for NYSDOT compliance.

Tasks

-Oversee and coordinate documentation of construction inspection. -Coordinate activities on the project site and resolve problems related to the work. -Maintain project documentation and communicate with individuals at all levels of the project. -Apply project plans, along with company policies, guidelines, standards, specifications to the work and make decisions. -Responsible for the construction inspection of bridge and/or highway construction projects including measuring and calculating quantities and documenting work with daily work reports, photos, and sketches.

What You Bring

-5 or more years of related experience required. -Experience working with/for clients like NYSDOT and/or Municipal clients and a technical knowledge of general and highway construction preferred. -High attention to detail. -Ability to read, write and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions. -At least NICET II or Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering required. -Insures work is completed in accordance with NYSDOT specifications. -Ability to work outdoors, on job sites, for extended periods of time. -Valid Driver's License. -Comfortable with using computers and adapting to software. -Expertise in federally-aided, transportation projects as a Construction Inspector preferred. -Strong communication skills. -Team player who enjoys working collaboratively with others. -Strong mathematics skills. -Expertise in federally-aided, transportation projects as a Construction Inspector is helpful in this role. Experience working with/for clients like NYSDOT and/or Municipal clients and a technical knowledge of general and highway construction is ideal. -Appia and/or CEES Experience. -Familiarity with NYSDOT's Manual of Uniform Record Keeping (MURK).
