Overview
Manages construction bid estimating, take‑offs, pricing, subcontractor coordination.

Tasks
-Assists with final assembly of estimate for presentation to owner. -Builds and maintains relationships with internal McCarthy clients. -Participates in hard bid/estimating and GMP budgeting activities by soliciting subcontractor support and evaluating bids. -Attends industry events and represents McCarthy to the industry in a professional capacity. -Aids field operations with change order pricing if needed. -Keeps current with latest estimating technology and techniques. -Communicates with architects and consultants to clarify scope of work, materials, and schedule requirements, and documents these clarifications. -Performs quantity take-offs. -Directs, coordinates and provides information and documents to subcontractors. -After the bid, collects and organizes all bid information for future reference. -Maintains a “value added” approach to estimating. -Develops and documents logical assumptions during conceptual estimating activities and applies these assumptions to takeoff tasks. -Actively participates in the internal estimate review process. -Prepares contractual exhibits for scope of work for subcontracts. -Builds relationships with subcontractors to obtain a competitive advantage for McCarthy. -Assists in the pricing and bidding of construction projects. -Questions designs and assumptions and presents ideas to manager on the project. -Conducts reviews of milestone documents for the development and pricing of value alternative opportunities.

What You Bring
-Attention to detail. -Solid interpersonal and communication skills. -Working knowledge of estimating technology and tools such as OST, WinEst, Bluebeam and BIM related software. -Strong work ethic and core values. -Demonstrates basic conceptual estimating skills by interpolating data. -Demonstrates behaviors consistent with McCarthy core values. -Strong math and analytical skills. -Ability to synthesize cost data from a wide range of sources into a conceptual estimate. -General knowledge of construction principles and processes. -Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications. -Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management or Engineering and/or 3-7 years of equivalent experience required. -General knowledge of negotiated bids, hard bids, and GMP processes.
