Estimate costs for electrical construction projects, analyze blueprints, and prepare bids.

Tasks

-Prepare special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends -Compute cost by analyzing labor, material, and time requirements -Help track market prices for commodities and equipment to ensure bids reflect current cost and remain competitive -Collaborate with others on the preconstruction team to successfully bid jobs -Prepare work to be estimated by gathering proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents -Prepare subcontractor bid packages -Perform conceptual, schematic, and design development budgets -Resolve discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information -Present prepared estimates by assembling and displaying numerical and descriptive information -Solicits and maintains communication with subcontractors and vendors -Review plans for consistency and accuracy

What You Bring

-Ability to approach challenges with a problem solving and analytic approach -Understanding of industry terminology -Journeyman or Master Electrician License (Texas) or equivalent field experience -6-8 years of overall commercial electrical experience -Underground and Land Balancing experience a plus -6+ years of estimating or commercial construction management experience -Understanding of Construction Estimating Systems ( e.g. Accubid, Trimble, Conest) and other Microsoft applications. -Proficient time management skills with ability to navigate multiple estimate opportunities -Familiarity with Sage BIM/ Revit or CAD drawings -Willingness to develop relationships with subcontractors, clients, and engineers -Strong written and verbal communication skills -Proficient with various modern technology platforms -Excellent organizational skills -HSA and FSA -Ability to read plans and specifications and perform quantity surveys
