Tasks

-Provide on-site construction observation of municipal and development infrastructure projects, confirming that construction works meet the requirements of contract drawings and specifications. -Perform construction administration services and coordination including preparing, reviewing, and tracking schedule, day-to-day liaison with contractors and consultants, attending job meetings, preparation of progress payments, meeting minutes, record keeping and reporting. -Ensure construction compliance to the contractual drawings and specifications. -Contribute to Dillon’s corporate profile through active participation in professional associations and committees. -Coordinate, monitor and witness required testing activities to ensure that testing is being carried out at the prescribed frequency and that the results meet requirements/standards. -Provide general construction observation during construction on all construction labor and subcontracted tasks to ensure professional workmanship meet the contractual requirements. -Coordinate daily records of conditions, site activities, field measurements, and work progress. -Review construction documentation including submittal and shop drawing reviews.

-Experience as a construction observer on large municipal infrastructure projects or land development projects is considered an asset. -Input to the career development of junior staff, including technical direction, training recommendations, coaching and mentoring. -Valid Canadian drivers' license -The ability to anticipate, examine, and adopt new and innovative solutions is a crucial driver for the continual and progressive advancement of our business performance. In our culture, people are empowered to reflect and question current practices and seek forward looking solutions to today’s problems and tomorrow’s opportunities. -A variety of EFAP tools and online resources to support well-being are available to all employees. -Proficiency in Microsoft Office products -Exceptional communication (verbal and written) skills are essential. -Record and track as-built markups. -Working knowledge of relevant municipal/provincial standards and regulatory requirements. -Ability to interpret contract drawings for municipal infrastructure projects -Comfortable with providing direction to the contractor onsite as needed through Project Manager, as required -Expert knowledge of municipal servicing standards and environmental approvals requirements. -5-10 years' related work experience -Ability to operate survey rod and level is an asset -In depth knowledge of contract administration services and requirements. -Ability to recognize potential technical issue with designs during construction and take appropriate actions in coordination with the Project Manager -Able to keep organized notes related to daily site activities, contractor equipment used, quantities and document with photos
