Tasks

-Participate in project kickoff meetings -Assist with contaminated soils- Hazardous Waste Operations (HAZWOPER) protocols and training -Participate in preconstruction and preparatory meetings -Ensure compliance with all regulatory bodies and standards -Work with project superintendents to identify high risk activities and plan mitigation of hazards -Document site safety paperwork per BNB’s document retention policy -Walk new projects for safety setup and identify risks (Preconstruction walk) -Supervised subordinate staff members -Assist Fire damage prevention -Manage assigned safety engineers based on the region’s workload -Distribute and analyze leading indicators for program evaluation -Participate in prequalification and performance monitoring of subcontractors -Work with corporate safety director to continuously improve safety policies, procedures, and processes -Assist with the development and revision of corporate safety policies -Audit project work practices and track findings to completion. Use findings to evaluate trends and to provide data for continuous improvement -Complete project audits weekly and appropriate follow up -Instruct and train project leaders in company safety programs and policies -Assist project teams to identify and incorporate best safety practices into site programs -Assist with Infection Control Risk Assessment (ICRA) programs and training -Assist with conducting job site safety meetings -Analyze incident reports and evaluate case studies to establish trend analysis based on acquired facts -Lead the development of risk mitigation tools such as Accident Prevention Plans, Safe Operating Procedures, Job Hazard Analyses, Toolbox Meetings, and OSHA Outreach Training Programs -Develop and administer employee/craft site specific safety training and orientations -Assist in developing and conducting the monthly safety meetings and the annual safety summits -Assist with developing and implementing site safety paperwork -Review incident performance to discover root causes and provide recommendations to the management team for corrective and preventive actions -Assist with Asbestos/ Lead/ Mold abatement protocols & training -Assist with Hearing testing conservation -Provide subject matter expertise in area assigned, if applicable -Pre-construction analysis with the estimating team for contaminated buildings and/or soils -Evaluate project needs for frequency of site audits -Ensure corrective/disciplinary measures are followed on projects -Supervise and administer safety/first aid and emergency response activities -Oversee the documentation of all accidents, safety violations, and unsafe conditions/activities -Oversee the issuance of work permits for high-risk activities -Assist in workers compensation claim administration -Conduct mid and end of year performance reviews with assigned safety engineers -Assist water mitigation and restoration

What You Bring

-Prefer experience with General Contractor managing self-perform work in a union environment -In-depth understanding of local and federal safety regulations for the construction industry -Ability to demonstrate expertise in construction safety practices when working with clients, subcontractors and project managers -Minimum of 10 years construction industry experience -Have the capability to stand in for the Regional Safety Manager if they are unavailable or have scheduling conflicts -Chemical awareness training and best practices for handling at project level protocols and training to be included in project submittal reviews -Prefer project experience on jobs with construction costs of at least 20 Million dollars -Ergonomics such as improving flex and stretch, tool and equipment recommendation for our industry, workstations analysis -Effective communicator, able to deliver clear, concise and consistent messages, both verbally and in writing -Understanding of subcontractor management and safety requirements for specialty trades -Current First Aid CPR training -Experience overseeing industrial hygiene and fire protection programs -OSHA 30 hour construction certified -Outdoor Air Quality (OAQ) protocols and training -Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) protocols and training -Confined space (air quality) protocols and training (building enclosures prior to exhaust being in place) -Current OSHA Outreach Instructor credentials
