Safety Manager

Tasks

-Maintain company-wide safety policies and develop job-specific safety plans. -Maintain safety documentation such as OSHA logs, safety meeting records, and training certifications. -Ensure proper use, maintenance, and availability of PPE and fall protection systems. -Monitor subcontractor safety compliance and coordinate site-wide safety initiatives. -Lead frequent safety trainings and meetings at the corporate, regional, and self-perform levels. -Work with superintendents to plan safe means and methods for high-risk activities such as scaffolding, formwork, heavy lifting, and concrete operations. -Stay current with local, state, and federal safety regulations and industry best practices. -Investigate incidents and near misses; prepare detailed reports and lead root cause analyses. -Participate in JSA (Job Safety Analysis) reviews and Jobsite Gym activities. -Serve as a trainer for programs including Fall Protection, NFPA Hot Work, First Aid/CPR, MEWP, and Forklift Certification. -Lead self-perform preconstruction safety meetings. -Collaborate with teams to ensure completion of pre-task documentation, including: -Conduct regular job site visits to ensure compliance with OSHA and company standards. -Perform hazard assessments and implement corrective actions to reduce risk. -Participate in and lead corporate safety meetings.

What You Bring

-OSHA 500 Trainer certification or trainer-level experience for required safety topics is a plus. -Valid driver's license and ability to travel regularly to job sites. -5+ years of construction safety experience, preferably in large-scale ground-up or renovation commercial projects. -Strong negotiation and leadership skills. -OSHA 30-Hour Construction Certification required. -Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus. -Experience managing high-risk construction activities, including concrete forming, scaffolding, trenching, and demolition. -Professional certifications such as CHST, ASP, CSP, or similar are a plus. -Strong knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR 1926 Construction Standards. -Capable of working both collaboratively and independently. -Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Construction Management, or a related field required. -Initiative and strong problem-solving abilities. -Exceptional communication, leadership, and organizational skills — a strong, visible presence is essential in this role. -Experience developing and implementing Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), Site-Specific Safety Plans (SSSPs), and Fall Protection Plans. -Proven ability to enhance processes and improve efficiencies. -High level of professional ethics and integrity. -Ability to multi-task and effectively prioritize workload.
