Structural Designer

Overview

Create steel fabrication, shop & erection drawings using Advance Steel, AutoCAD & Revit.

Tasks

-Revise and update drawings based on engineering feedback, field conditions, and client requirements. -Gain expertise in product lines to accurately draft and document access solutions. -Develop connection details, bills of materials, and cut lists for fabrication shops. -Coordinate with fabrication shops, field supervisors, and engineering teams for project accuracy and timely delivery. -Maintain organized drawing submittals and revision control through CAD/PDM systems. -Ensure all drawings comply with engineering standards, codes, and company guidelines. -Comply with all safety protocols within the work environment. -Provide support during fabrication and erection, resolving drawing or dimensional issues. -Assist application engineers by preparing erection drawings, scaffold/hoist layouts, and assembly instructions. -Prepare detailed fabrication, shop, and erection drawings for steel assemblies and access structures. -Support engineering staff with preparation of calculation packages when required.

What You Bring

-Creative problem-solving skills in a collaborative team environment. -Experience in a steel fabrication shop environment is preferred. -2+ years of experience as a steel detailer, engineering drafter, or designer. -Highly detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. -Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a customer service focus. -Motivated to learn and work in the construction industry. -Associate or bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Civil, or Structural Engineering Technology or equivalent drafting/design experience. -Basic knowledge of engineering software such as STAAD, RISA, TEDDS, and ENERCALC is a plus. -Proficiency in Autodesk Advance Steel, AutoCAD, and Revit. -Familiarity with fabrication processes, welding, bolted connections, and shop practices.
