Tasks
-Lead and develop indirect reports; may be accountable and responsible for a small team -Carry out annual verifications to ensure quality of service line deliverables -Apply project and risk management techniques -Facilitate service line integration to ensure successful delivery of the environmental program -Some work may be located on construction sites; incumbent may occasionally be required to wear basic safety equipment -Integrate environmental services into other programs -Provide training to enhance overall service line competency -Lead project teams within the region and collaborate with others nationally -Complete complex service line project work (e.g. technical reviews on large, high-risk projects) -Manage regional service line operations (e.g. business plans, reporting, delegation of authorities, risk management, quality of services) -Ensure the integration of security considerations into service delivery -Develop and maintain effective relationships within DCC, and with industry, the Client-Partners and/or stakeholders -Provide functional direction and advice to employees and Client-Partners -Manage regional service line risks (e.g. participate in high-risk projects, review deliverables, liaise with Client-Partners) -Develop annual regional business plan and quarterly reports -Ensure quality standards are met, in line with corporate and Client-Partner expectations -Research, prepare and present documentation for long-term projects (e.g. approvals, statements of work, charters, budgets, policies and procedures) -Develop, recommend and ensure implementation of policies and procedures, training programs and processes -Promote and manage business development opportunities -Resolve complex problems with multiple stakeholders -Assist region’s business units with needs assessment and resource planning -Review and audit work of service line staff and provide feedback -Write proposals, technical texts and reports -Use applicable computer software and operating systems -Lead the development and implementation of regional service line initiatives and support national initiatives -Perform human resources functions (e.g. coach, supervise, mentor, plan and allocate resources, manage performance), as required

What You Bring
-Minimum: university degree in biology, environmental sciences, environmental engineering or related field with eight years’ relevant experience, or the equivalent -Demonstrate business acumen, leadership and human resources management skills -previous employment -This position has been designated bilingual, where English and French are essential. ** -While priority will be given to qualified candidates who meet this bilingual linguistic profile, we welcome applications from candidates who may not meet this bilingual requirement.** -Preferred: specialized knowledge, training and/or certification in one or more environmental services practice area -Project and risk management principles
